Giuseppe Tour Guide & Director

I am an Edinburgh-based tour guide

working professionally since 2017, specialising in tours for Italian-speaking groups throughout Scotland and Ireland.

📍 Based in Edinburgh, available to travel throughout Scotland and Ireland all year round

Whether you are a tour agency, a private travel party, a cultural association, a school group, or simply a family looking for a meaningful journey, I offer a fully personalised experience for Italian visitors who want to discover Scotland and Ireland through the eyes of someone who knows these lands intimately, and who shares their language and cultural sensibility.

A slightly unconventional guide

My background in education, journalism and cultural coordination has shaped my approach to guiding: attentive, flexible, and genuinely curious. I adapt naturally to a wide range of interests, from traditional folk music and Gaelic culture to Scottish and Irish history, heritage, and landscape. A lifelong love of music, particularly Scottish fiddle and Gaelic traditions, has led me to festivals and communities across Scotland, giving me an insider's feel for the culture beyond the tourist trail.

I have collaborated with media productions at the highest level, including an assignment with RAI, Italy's national broadcaster, for the Superquark series presented by Alberto Angela, in an episode dedicated to Mary Queen of Scots.

Having lived in Scotland since 1993, and in Edinburgh continuously, I am proud to call it home. I hold a BA in Philosophy, Art, Literature, History and Music, and a postgraduate teaching qualification, with which I taught Italian language and culture at the University of Edinburgh. Alongside Italian and English, I also speak Spanish and Catalan.

Let's got lost together

I offer weekly tours throughout Scotland, cultural walking tours of Edinburgh, and bespoke tours of Ireland, all fully adaptable to your group's interests, pace, and travel style.

I am fully available to organise and lead customised tours for Italian groups, from a single day in Edinburgh to a multi-week journey across Scotland and Ireland.
