"How many roads must a man walk down before you can call him a man?"
I'm from Friuli, with my center of gravity in Edinburgh since 1994.
In that year, following paths that I took during the writing of the degree thesis on the poetic and musical world of Bob Dylan , I found in the land of Scotland a stimulating environment for a varied and professional path.
I taught Italian language at the University of Edinburgh and the Italian Cultural Institute of the Scottish capital. Coordinator of the Italian Language and Culture Courses in Scotland and Northern Ireland , I then worked for ten years for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the consulate in Edinburgh. In these years of stay in Scotland I have written for national newspapers and magazines dealing in particular with musical and cultural events.
"On the road again"
Feeling the need to share my human and cultural baggage, could I ever .. remain behind a desk?
The answer no longer blows in the wind; from 2017 the project becomes reality, I leave my permanent position and I get back into the game ... I become a Guide .
It is the humanistic appeal that has its roots in the years of training at the Universities of Padua, Siena, Trieste and Edinburgh.
"Any day now, I shall be released"
I remember the days with Alberto Angela on the trail of Queen Maria Stuarda (Superquark), the patrols in Inverness with Outlander fans, the lavish picnic with the supporters of the Italian Rugby team on the banks of Loch Lomond, the songs in the rain of Skye . Some travelers have shown particular qualities. I envied those who received esoteric energies in Rosslyn's chapel, those who saw unicorns - rare, but still there - and those who filmed the unmistakable proof of Nessie's existence.
"My Heart's in the Highlands"
The sense of infinite space, the changing green of the hills,
the lakes that reflect legends, the enthusiasm of Gaelic festivals,
folk music sessions, folk dances, overnight stays in Victorian hotels, the rainbow after the storm, the enchantment of the Northern Lights, and again bouncing on the mosses, getting lost among the stone circles, finding yourself in a space and in a remote time.
For all that ... I live my driving profession as a precious opportunity to which I respond with full enthusiasm!
